We are Margaret and Nigel Crompton, married for 38 years, two “grown up” sons and a young granddaughter.

We retired from our professional lives in July 2010 to pursue our retirement dream of cruising on the French waterways in our newly acquired Dutch barge.
We are always accompanied by our two faithful hounds, Dash, an 8 year old border terrier and Belle a 3 year old whippet.

We came back to the UK from our summer cruise in October 2011 with itchy feet, wanting something more exciting to do during the winter months when we were not boating and made the “mistake” of going to the NEC motorhome and caravan exhibition.

As a result of this, Liberté Too arrived on our drive in April 2012 and after another summer cruise on the boat and the lovely addition of our first grandchild in August 2012, the motorhome phase of our lives began……….

Not being ones to do things by halves, our first winter trip is to Morocco, a three week trip starting on 03/12/2012 with a company called Desert Detours, there will be about 12 other couples in their motorhomes along with the tour guides. We have never been on an organised trip like this before in our lives, nor even a package holiday tour! After the official tour ends we will stay on in Morocco and continue touring by ourselves for another couple of months as we are allowed to stay in the country for 90 days in total without the need for a visa.

In 2014 we made the decision that our barge was no longer the right boat for us so we put her up for sale and downsized to a 12 metre Steel cruiser, Meander. We are currently exploring the Germany waterways in her.
